Omnia and Andres Sanchez remixed Lange & Sarah Howells - Out of The Sky and gave it a '18 fresh vibe
Once a classic, always a classic – ‘Out Of The Sky’ - Lange & Sarah Howells drops back out of the proverbial today, flanked by two exemplary remix revisions. Producers on point are Omnia and Andres Sanchez and artistically they’ve taken the lead track from Lange’s heroic ‘Better Late Than Never’ album to some very special places indeed.
No introduction necessary, that man Omnia scripts a blissed-out summer’s kiss of a mix, and one that holds an instinctive connection with Sarah Howell’s imaginatively penned, magically touching song. The Ukrainian uses fluttering synths, thermally undulating bass, elegant chord structures and innate key changes to repoint the track for the season ahead.
The hombre from Madrid, Andres Sanchez has been conjuring fire on many a label over the last year or so - FSOE, WAO138?!, Subculture, Grotesque, ASOT and Flashover among ‘em. On his mix, he strengthens ‘Sky’s club form, reinforces its later-night floor credentials and brings a raft of sub-melodies and arena-filling synth elevation to its summit stages.
Two mixes broadening the appeal of a classic yet further still, the Omnia and Andres Sanchez mixes of ‘Out Of The Sky’ are available from today, here: https://blackhole.choons.at/outofthesky

New track: Frank Dueffel & Curtis Young - The Cartel [Vandit]
Let’s be frank, Mr. Dueffel’s back on VANDIT and after the club reception afforded ‘Adiabatic’ and follow-up ‘Wherever You Are’, we couldn’t be happr! Better yet, this time he’s brought a chum along with him!
‘The Cartel’ finds the Wesseling resident sat side-by-side in the studio with none other than Curtis Young. If that has you picturing hip-hop artiste and son of Dr. Dre, well allow us to disabuse you! It is in fact the young trance DJ & production hotshot from Belfast - a man who’s been making almost as many waves as Frank has of late.
‘The Cartel’ contrasts an elevating, optimism-fuelled soundbase against the vocal’s tenacious anti-drug polemic. With originality to burn, it squares drum romp & bass vibrancy with quick-running sub-melodies, awww inspiring (!) pad & chord motions and innovative FX. Gating up a storm in the break, its mainline synths point to the heavens to deliver its sky-bound soar.
Check ‘The Cartel’ out via the VANDIT SoundCloud here: https://soundcloud.com/vanditrecords, or cut right to the chase and stash it in you collection via Beatport here: https://www.beatport.com/release/the-cartel-extended/2293820
Mesmerizing: Exolight & Suncatcher: Siren Song [Always Alive]
I told you in an older article, these guys: Exolight & Suncatcher are not going to stop! They just released last week, on June 8th a new track called Siren Song and it is too great not to write about it. I am finding myself again looking at a blank space and trying to put my thoughts in order to write them down.
It is hard. But in the same time easy. Easy because you cannot say anything bad about it. It is that great. Easy because it gives you shivers. Easy because, like Footprints on the Moon, this track gives me that crying vibe I am always having when the melody "sees" right through me.
Needing little introduction in their own right thanks to a string of stellar productions between them, Suncatcher's sweetly sun-kissed melodies combine with Exolight's unique approach to uplifting in a sublime joint production showcasing the very best of Always Alive's current roster. An expansive, engrossing uplifter from two of Always Alive's brightest, drift off with the brilliant 'Siren Song'.
The track is magic. Mesmerizing. Luring. It really transferred me into a different world. A world where happiness is happening. A world where bad feelings are washed away. A world where no one can reach and hurts us anymore. It hypnotises us into the joy. Into the goosebumps.
I also asked them a little bit about the track:
What inspired you to do this track?
We always have a story behind our tracks. That's why they are so emotional. It's either something that happened to one of us or something that we feel when we are writing the track. Siren Song is all about that moment in your life when you finally managed to let go something that saddened you for a very long time. That last sorrowful feeling.
How did you work on it?
I started it (Exolight) and then we met in Suncatcher's studio, where we finished it.
Why did you chose Always Alive for the release? Or did the label chose you?
We chose Always Alive, because we considered that is the label it fits the best, given the melody and sound of the track.
When will you have your next release?
Pretty soon. We already sent it to the label and they were happy with it. We might play it first at Luminosity!

New track: Jordan Suckley & Alex M.O.R.P.H. - Ambush [Vandit]
Jordan Suckley’s been in dynamic form for VANDIT of late. Only the other month he was in league with Sam Jones on ‘Pursuit’ and now - hot on its heels - comes the techy trappings of the equally ensnaring of ‘Ambush’. Jumping into the co-producer’s chair – and for the first time no less, it’s the inimitable Mr. Alex M.O.R.P.H. The collaboration dynamic might have changed, but the floor effects remain every bit as dramatic!
Drawing on metallic sounding percussion, marching drums and overwhelmingly danceable bass, ‘Ambush’ exerts substantial force from the off. A tongue-twisting sly side of Psy keep the gauges climbing, while roiling sub-riffs and boiler room atmospheres send its pressure higher still. Top of the drop and the pair unload a techy atom-splitter of mainline to fully spring ‘Ambush’s clubby trap.
‘Ambush is gonna getcha sooner or later! So get out in front of it here from today: beatport.com/release/ambush-extended/2292194.

Float. Breathe. Dream. John O'Callaghan & Stine Grove - Our Destiny is pure magic [Subculture]
Fire in his production belly, John O’Callaghan has already (per Mixmag) “explored his dark side” this year with ‘Next Stop Muddy Waters’ and fortified club floors further with the magnificent ‘Choice Of The Angels’. Into May - and again exhibiting his renowned flexibility to produce across trance’s broader span - the Irishman’s charting a vocal course.
For ‘Our Destiny’, John’s connected with Danish singer/songwriter Stine Grove to conceive a nothing-less-than-spellbinding new single.
This is pure magic. I am listening to it on repeat now and I feel so light. So airy. Everything is perfect in this track: From melody, to lyrics, to vocals. Everything. John can never disappoint and Stine Grove always sounded amazing! Ripe with illustrative song writing, her voice animates every word, lending each line more significance than the last. Touching, enrapturing and stirring, it adds yet another new dimension to John’s productions.
Naturally ‘Our Destiny’ carries all the hallmark studio punch and floor clout you’ve come to expect from JOC. Reflecting the refined nature of its vocal though, his underlying intricacies serve the track equally. Long, drawn filmic strings, unhurried piano and more measured bass movements underscore its midsection, before uniting with its drums & mainline to bring the post-break altitude.
A track that exists as much for subtlety as strength, you can experience John & Stine’s ‘Our Destiny’ here from May 25: subculture.choons.at/ourdestiny

New track: Markus Schulz & Jes - Calling For Love [Coldharbour Recordings]
Having just last month brought floors to full roar through the Emma Hewitt-sung ‘Safe From Harm’, Markus Schulz is poised with another epic first-time team-up. This time Markus x JES is the equation, and if you’re wondering how that’s never have happened before, well the queue forms to the left! Analysis is now academic as two of trance’s greats bridge the studio/song gap with the soul-stirringly moving ‘Calling For Love’.
In its all-day-play radio version, first contact with ‘Calling’ came through April’s interlinked ‘In Bloom EP’ and GDJB show. For it’s standalone release, Markus has club-equipped the Extended Mix with all the necessaries to see it reign equally at night. Tapping the tempo gas, ‘Calling’s production’s been galvanised by hardier drums, hastening snares, percussive march and - in its latter stages - synth-radiance. By turns strong, optimistic, defiant, wrought and lamenting, JES’ song is a swirl of contending emotions, lyrically & vocally encapsulating her theme.
‘Calling For Love’s official video will shortly join fellow ‘In Bloom’ single ‘Safe From Harm’s (which passed the 1 million YouTube views marker last week) online. Meantime, you can stream/purchase the Extended Mix of ‘Calling For Love’ here: http://markusschulz.choons.at/callingforlove

Rising energy and a little bit of mystery: Cold Blue - A New Spirit [Subculture]
Cold Blue released a new track! Cold Blue released a new track! A New Spirit was out on May 4th and it couldn't be a better follow up for Learning to Live!
Having effected a career breakout last year, the opening months of 2018 have seen Cold Blue shift up another couple of gears again. With debut festival performances for the young German incoming at Tomorrowland, EDC Vegas and Airbeat One, studio-side he’s cemented his position equally firmly with a salvo of new heat-seekers.
His disc of the recent ‘Subculture’ mixcomp served as a de facto artist album, which showcased in ever-greater focus his artistic capabilities and there, amongst its number, was the indomitable ‘A New Spirit’. Few realised it at the time, but ‘A New Spirit’ had enjoyed first light several months early at last winter’s Dreamstate. Cold Blue flew it under the ID radar during his SoCal performance, as a blind taste test for the tune. The crowd’s reactive energy wave was all it took to convince him that it was ‘Learning To Live’s follow-up.
In the run up to Dreamstate, EDMIdentity described Cold Blue as “fresh, original and risk-taking”, all adjectives which serve ‘A New Spirit’ equally. Tobias draws celestial FX and cursive cruising sub-melodies into the track’s midrange, setting ‘Spirit’ on a deliberately measured climb to the heavens. Into that he adds epic guitar hooks and raincry harmonies, furthering its ether. As its mainline evolves, builds, swells and finally resolves at improbable heights, its godly synths will draw you into an embrace you may never fully emerge from!
For me this track building energy so nicely. It is is a continuous rising energy. It doesn't take you to a higher place and leaves you there. It takes you higher and higher. It literally lifts your spirit up. It has a mystery I couldn't figure it out yet. It draws my soul through different states, so different I can't find the proper words to describe them. This track is magical, and it really worked for me while working, while writing, while designing. I found it to be perfect in situations where you might need a little more motivation, where you might need a little more energy.
You can discover Cold Blue’s essential ‘ A New Spirit’ here.

Something to fuel the soul: Nikolauss - Overdrive [Extrema Global Music]
It is very difficult for me to talk about Andrei's work. I say this every time I want to write about his work. I fear I might be too subjective. Because, of course I am Nikolauss's biggest fan. Because, of course, I like each track he releases and I can't wait to see what else the industry has in store for him.
He released last Monday, Overdrive. A very strong track, perfect to celebrate 200 releases from Extrema Global Music. The label is doing great and Nikolauss is the right man for such a milestone. The track is so driving, so powerful and it got a lot if nice feedback from the fans. Grab your copy too here: extrema.lnk.to/overdrive.
Here we are. When we started thinking about who deserved this particular milestone, the answer was immediately clear. Andrei has been one of the most successful, consistent and ever evolving artist we ever had the pleasure to work with, he became a core team member of the Label and ultimately a true friend. We are very proud to introduce you Nikolauss - Overdrive, the 200th. Extrema Global Music release. There's nothing more to say. Just press play and be amazed. - Astuni
I called it "something to fuel your soul" for a reason. The track is one of those tracks to instantly pump you with energy and make your day better. It is a track to wake up to. To dance in the bus station. To run to. To run towards all your goals and dreams and smash everything that might come between you. I listen to this track after I read an email I might not agree with and immediately feel better. I listen to this track after I feel like there is no motivation, and I instantly get up and do better. I listen to this track for a while now to dream it and know each sound of it. To know each goosebump I'll get.
Just hit play and try it too.

Music for the soul: Exolight & Suncatcher - Footprints on the Moon [Ava White]
I am looking at the blank space and I am trying to write something about this track. I am trying to find my words to describe this magic. I am trying to explain all the feelings I am getting and it is hard. It is so hard, because when I first heard the track, it left me speechless. It opened a lot of feelings I thought forgotten and literally stole all my words. Exolight and Suncatcher released on April 9th Footprints On The Moon with Ava White and blew a whole community with it.
This track should be called Footprints On The Soul. Because it marks you in a way you cannot ever erase. It is a track that engraves every sound in my soul and makes my whole existence smile. It gives me the purest goosebumps. It gives me a joy that is very hard to describe with words. It makes me see all my life in just a moment. But in the best way possible. And the happiest way possible.
It is a track like I haven't listened in a while. It is a true trance track that few are able to make these days. It is a track that reminds me of the older style and that makes me melancholic. It is a track to have on repeat and never get bored of.
Be sure to grab your copy too, and support these guys's work. I am 1000% they will not stop soon. And they shouldn't. When your music makes people happy, it is a clear sign, you should never stop.

New track: Suzanne Chesterton & Robert Lowe - Antus [Vandit]
In both solo and co-op form, Richard Lowe’s been a production presence on VANDIT‘s skyline for some time now. Through outings like ‘Levitate’ and his ‘Our Day’ & ‘March Skies’ team-ups with David Forbes, floor-side he’s been a rainmaker to some big, BIG club moments. Having written her own compositions from her single digit years, Suzanne Chesterton caught the musical bug even earlier. It took the meeting of these two likeminds for her first release to be fully realised though.
What though is an ‘Antus’!? Well, if you ask Google, it’ll tell you it’s “a World of Warcraft player with exceptional skills and the strength of a beast!” We’re not certain if this is the origin of Suzanne & Richard’s incarnation, but (and you can probably see where we’re going with this!) it does one heck of a job in describing it!
Trancefloor elevation to vertiginous levels is what the duo have conspired. Through ‘Antus’ powerplant drums, rimshot percussion drive, no-nonsense pace and tirelessly grafting synths, that’s exactly where you’re carried. Don’t look down (less you dare!) - ‘Antus’ from Suzanne & Richard towers from today! Score your copy hereabouts: https://www.beatport.com/track/antus-club-mix/10418974 or you can also catch a listen via VANDIT’s Soundcloud.
