New Track: Danny Eaton - Concentration [Pure Trance]

Ohh my! Ohh my! Ohh my! Cannot believe I've been so ignorant till now and that I didn't know about this guy! Danny Eaton - Concentration was just released on Beatport today and for me, it was love at first listen!

This is Danny's debut release, taken from Solarstone's Pure Trance, Vol. 6. The key to Concentration's brilliance is its simplicity, a hallmark which echoes trance's halcyon days. Propelled by a phasing, gated pad progression, the conscientious rhythm programming and restrained, understated synth-work result in a club track which builds relentlessly to a sublime break and perfect pay-off.

I was just looking into yesterday's releases and when you see Pure Trance, you cannot scroll without hitting the play button. And that play was indeed a great play! I listened to the preview, re-listened, grabbed my copy and put the track on repeat. It is so driving, so pure, so magical! It took me instantly into the trance phasis, the Trance[IS] as I like to call it.

This track sounds amazing and Pure Trance is definitely the right label to be released with. It has that pure trance vibe on it. It also has that "old days" trance vibe that will make a lot of trancers lose themselves. Lose into the memories. Lose into the music. Lose into the greatness.

Grab your copy: pure.choons.at/concentration.

If I didn't know about Danny Eaton till now, this track made me know about him. And to put a flag on the name. To look for more. To look for future productions and to enjoy them all. I am pretty sure he will do great. Follow his work and adventures: Soundcloud (he has some cool and free downloads too), Twitter.

New Track: Craig Connelly feat. Kate Miles - Lost without you [Subculture]

There is no doubt, Subculture is one of THE trance labels to follow constantly. There is no doubt they release choon after choon and that they never settle for less than greatness. And their latest release: Craig Connelly feat. Kate Miles - Lost without you, makes no exception. He definitely knows how to start a new year! After releasing last year his debut album - One Second Closer (a master piece of an album), he kick starts 2018 with this very nice collaboration with Kate Miles!

With her voice instilling its emotional core, ‘Lost Without You’s lyrical theme will resonate with many, and far beyond the walls of a club.  Craig equalizes Kate’s lament with chord & pad empathy, a prime time chiming tempo, and synths, strings & bass that speak directly to the dancefloor. Trance elevation cut from classic production cloth, if you’re in need of New Year uplift, step this way!

Of course, I had the track on repeat today. To write about it, and to dream. To dream about love, happiness and pure joy. Because that is the vibe this track is giving me. Kate's dreamy voice perfectly completes Craig's power within the instrumental. It is an emotional track, and of course quite uplifting. I am pretty sure, a lot of voices will be lost singing along this on the dance floor. Because is it that good.

The track was out today and you can grab you copy from here: subculture.choons.at/lostwithoutyou. I grabbed mine and an sure I will be listening to it for the next days literally EVERYWHERE. Will test it at the gym to, but in my mind it already works pretty well with some cardio.

What about you? What do you think about the track?

Masterpiece from Outburst: Prism Volume 2 by Mark Sherry & Tempo Giusto

Outburst is one of my favorite labels. And they announced Prism Volume 2, I couldn't be happier. I knew it would be great, 'cuz everything they do is great! Fresh madness, synthesized madness, Outburst's colorfully - explosive second trip through Prism is one of the highlights of 2017!

Prism 2 is a very bold compilation. It is one of THE compilations of the 2017. And that because it dares. And the one that is making all of this happen is the one and only Mark Sherry. He put together 43 tracks and transformed everything into a journey. A journey made possible also with the help of the trance master Tempo Giusto.

What’s on board musically? Well if we throw tough-trance names like Markus Schulz, Mauro ‘Megamind’ Picotto, Stoneface & Terminal, Richard Durand, Lostly, Orkidea, Arkham Knights, Robert Nickson and David Forbes at you, you should get the idea! Likewise raining down an ungodly synth, string, bass & drum firestorm, there’s much from our two mixing protagonists in there too!

Disclaimer: In this recording, zero regard has been paid to your general well being and/or safety. No height or age restrictions apply and should you wish too proceed, the label accepts no liability for the outcome!

Courtesy of ‘Any Time’ from Thick As Thieves (Sherry’s new techno-tipped project with David Forbes) and his own purpose-built, album-exclusive ‘Imbecile’, Mark’s mix spills early thrills at the speed of sound. His 2nd Phase team-up ‘Killer Twist’ is up next, which in turn paves the way for Mark’s reshapes of Schulz’s ‘The New World’ and Megamind’s ‘Taub’ and ‘No Regular’ from Ricky Fobis. Further down the wormhole you’ll find Stoneface & Terminal’s ‘So What’, David Forbes & Richard Durand paired on ‘Coma’ and ‘One Last Look’ from Lostly. The mix’s summit in sight, he fires off a decisive track (out)burst made up of Alan Morris’ ‘Stigmata’, ‘Laserface’ from EverLight and ReDrive’s rework of Sherry/Dr Willis classic ‘Here Come The Drums’.

If these 80 minutes of ‘Prism 2’ haven’t left you thoroughly, deliriously weekend-ready, fear not… there’s another 80 coming right up!

Tempo Giusto’s fought his way through to the trance frontlines in 2017, and here he steps up to claim his debut mix-comp credit. From the off, his disc kicks ass & takes names through an opening fusillade of the Spaniard’sOrkidea ‘Redemption’ remix-uptick, ‘Gravity’ by Arkham Knights and his ‘Pachinko’ collab with his brother Ima'gin. Giving a nod to last year’s ‘Prism’s co-mixer, he drops Alex Di Stefano’s ‘Split’ & ‘What's The Catch’, as well as his reshape of Sherry/Stefano club-blitzer, ‘Everyone Is Looking For Us’. ‘Survival’ from Aussie lad Exis and Liquid Soul’s ‘Wake Up’ trail-blaze Tempo’s own double-ace closeout, ‘Raindance’ & ‘Burn’.

Mark Sherry & Tempo Giusto’s Outburst presents Prism Volume 2 is available to pre-order/order here: http://outburst.choons.at/prism2

New Track: Exolight - Starfall [Always Alive Recordings]

This has been a very interesting year for the Romanian Trance scene, for the World Wide Trance scene. Exolight is one of the freshest names in the industry and he is one of the talented ones! His tracks  sound fresh, trancy and are the perfect tracks to have in your playlist.

Recently he just launched Starfall, with Always Alive Recordings and the track sounds amazing. I enjoyed it at first listen and I knew I had to buy my copy once it is out.

Coupling classic basslines with Exolight's knack for the airy & melodic, 'Starfall' bridges the gap between old & new effortlessly with an impressively accomplished new production on Always Alive. The Romanian master returns with one of his best productions yet - Exolight is back with 'Starfall'.

To me, Starfall is the track that I wanna have on repeat while in a cabin, in the mountains, watching the snow. It puts me in the right mood for the season and makes me wanna reconnect with nature. It makes me wander into my world of happiness, it relaxes my senses and it gives me a very zen state of mind.

I really like the melody of it. It is dreamy and has the right amount of energy. An energy that charges senses. An energy that makes me touch each sound and breathe every note from it. The track gave me such goosebumps, I knew I will have it on repeat once I'll have it.

The track has already been supported by Aly & Fila (Starfall was also voted Future Sound in the last FSOE episode), Dan Stone, Alex Morph, Manuel Roca and Sundancer. You can grab your copy from here: alwaysaliverecordings.lnk.to/ALWAYSA223 and support it too.

I can't wait to see what else he has prepared for us! And I am really happy his trance journey is so productive! What do you think about his works till now?

New album: Markus Schulz pres. Dakota - Nine Skies [Coldharbour]

Markus Schulz just released his third LP under his Dakota alias called Nine Skies and let me tell you it is a great one!

If "Thoughts Become Things" I and II were pathfinders for this last one and possibly the most definitive of Dakota projects, Dakota has had always its own spiritual side, and that is perfectly reflected in the Nine Skies.

It all started last year, Florida’s Pulse nightclub attack being the main trigger .  All that happened that night, changed things for Markus and it influenced him into producing the album. It made him think more about deeper aspects of life and how can we all change the world and be on the right path, doing our part individually. He took all those thoughts and put them into 18 tracks, trying this way to do his part into turning things around.

In respect of ‘The Nine Skies’, Markus’ own awakening started predominantly through books. “I started reading, he says, like a lot!” “At home, in hotel lobbies, on flights, in the studioI’ve always had a lingering interest in spirituality and the desire to make some sense of life. It’s something I share with people that are close to me. We like to chat about the nature of things like dharma, prajna, true-self – all that stuff. It is how - over time - the ‘Skies’ came into being.

Displaying Dakota press Photos for interviews 1.JPG

Markus says that he has always seen Dakota, not as an alias, but as a persona. An identity. And that the division between the Dakota hat and the Markus Schulz one, helped him find the artistic space and make darker, moodier and deeper music. Exploring and experimenting more, leaving to the state of mind of the moment to lead him.

The LP has 18 tracks and I've listened to all of them quite a lot this past week. Even if it is not the bpm I am usually listening music to, it was something I enjoyed a lot. I listened to this on my way to the office, at the office, at the gym, writing articles, working on designs or daily chores. It worked perfectly with all of these activities. And it also put me in a very good and happy mood. A zen one actually. And when music does that, you know it is GOOD music.

Tracklist:

  1. The Nine Skies Intro
  2. Bravo on the Go
  3. Follow Me
  4. Mota-Mota
  5. Who Are You
  6. Searching
  7. Running Up That Hill
  8. Eve’s Doorway
  9. Edonismo
  10. Kismet
  11. The Way It Is
  12. Cafe Del Mar
  13. The Master
  14. Carbonado
  15. In Search of Something Better
  16. Future Shock
  17. The Spirit of the Warrior
  18. The Ninth Sky

I said 18 tracks, but as the title says there are 9 skies to reach:

1. The Follower - From wandering as lost souls, to learning how to be a good follower, in order to become a good leader.
2. The Contemplator - From questioning what surrounds us, to contemplating and opening our minds, in order to fill it with wisdom.
3. The Pathfinder - From a growing confidence, to finding our own path, in order to deeper understand ourselves and the world around us.
4. The Pleasure Seeker - From finding our way, to submitting to temptation, in order to learn from others and see the different point of views.
5. The Activist - From travelling along the path and understanding others, to standing up to make a difference.
6. The Master - From being tested and challenged, to disintegrating self doubt and building confidence, to measuring success through our inner happiness.
7. The Visionary - From beginning to see things clearly, to understanding the process, the world, the connections.
8. The Prophet - From seeing clearly to anticipating events and being one step ahead.
9. The Nirvana - From understanding the world, to feeling the overwhelming glow of happiness.

Reaching all of them is a complete and well thought journey. And I really like it when artists do this. I appreciate them taking the time drawing it for the listeners and pushing them to become better through music. I know I always do. Music helps me concentrate and reach all my happy places. And this album did it too. It worked for me, and I hope it will work for you too. Markus did an amazing job into producing this and I hope I understood everything as he envisioned it. Dakota is and will always be a very close to my heart project, because of works like Nine Skies.

The Nine Skies project was all done before anyone could say a word about it. It gave Markus the opportunity to release it in his own way, by bringing tracks to the stage one by one. This way, he gave the audience the possibility to digest and absorb it's essence easier. And not feel crowded by all the shows, news or other classic materials. Enlightenment takes time and nothing happens overnight. Markus released the first 4 singles in a specific order, to reflect the journey from darkness to enlightenment. Started with Mota Mota and ended with Spirit of the Warrior. Each track has its own theme and each reflects into the Skies' nine realms. Even if at first listen, you may not see the journey Markus envisioned, give it time. You'll get all the feels this album is about.

Dakota’s extraordinary The Nine Skies LP was be released through Coldharbour Recordings on December 8th. You can grab your copy from here: markusschulz.choons.at/thenineskies. For the Dakota enthusiats they also prepared The Nine Skies box set, that will become available soon. This very special limited edition audio-visual release will include the DVD of Markus’ performance of The Nine Skies at Prague’s O2 Arena, as part of the Transmission 2017 event.

Even tough I like the whole album, I do have some favorites: Mota Mota, Searching and The Spirit of the Warrior. What is your favorite?

NEW TRACK: AIRBORN, BOGDAN VIX & KEYPLAYER – 3UPHORIA [Essentializm]

New track in my cart alert! Airborn, Bogdan Vix and KeyPlayer are on the run. They released a lot of amazing tracks this year, and 3UPHORIA makes no exception! The track was released yesterday exclusively on Beatport, but it is in the trancers's hearts for at almost 2 weeks now, since Armin played it in A State of Trance 838!

Airborn, Bogdan Vix & Keyplayer are becoming something of a fixture here at Essentializm and we LOVE it! Following on from their previous instrumentals 'Kaleidoscope' and 'Liberation' which have received heavy play around these parts, the boys are back with their latest offering '3uphoria'. On the menu are Baleric vibes with a progressive and uplifting flavour, best served: LOUD!

When I clicked play, I didn't expect something like this. I didn't expect to literally take me into an euphoria. The track is sensitive; it is something I cannot find the right words to describe. That piano is a lot to handle.  It touches your heart in a way you get the chills. The chills of happiness, of pure joy. I fell in love at first listen. It gave me that state of "Dance like no one is watching". I am writing this after a 30 minutes dance party with this track on repeat and do not regret a second of it. It was great to re-charge my energy after a strong day at work with this track and to enjoy every feeling of it.

I am really happy they chose to work together, because the results are astonishing. And I really hope they will do even more next year. You can grab your copy now from Beatport, or stream it on Spotify! All other buying or streaming options are right here: raznitzan.lnk.to/3uphoria and will be available starting November 27.

What do you think about the track? Did it gave you the same chills? Did you experienced something else? Let me know!

New Track: Cold Blue - Speed Of Life [Subculture]

Cold Blue does it again! Yesterday he released under Subculture a new track: Speed of Life. Aaaaaaaand of course, the new track is a true choon!

I just grabbed my copy from Beatport and I put in on repeat. Not only to write this article, but because I instantly fell in love with it. The track is only $2.49, but Beatport has a coupon code of 10% too is you're interested.

Here comes a tune about the journey of life. About the high speed in which we're rushing through all the stages, but also about the beautiful single moments that wait for us just around the next corner. Life is fast, often hectic and overwhelming, so we might get lost in distractions while missing out on the important things that really matter. Let's remind ourselves to relax, open up and enjoy the speedy ride through our lives!

Right from the first listen, I just fell into that mood. The mood where I lose myself. The mood where I find myself. It made me think of all those small moments that marked my life and made me who I am today. It made me melancholic. But It made me happy. Happy that I got through all of those moments, no matter how bad or good they were, and that I am here. Able to do what I love and to love what I do.

This track is powerfull. This track is uplifting. This track is pure energy in disguise. Cold Blue does an amazing job once again and I do not think he will ever dissapoint. I am so happy for all his achievements and I cannot wait to see what else he has prepared for us. There is one way for him to go from now on, and that is UP!

Now, hit that play button and tell me if I am wrong with all the feelings. With all the toughts regarding it. Trance on!

Trance week in review: 4 Romanian acts on ASOT, FSOE and many more!

Busy, but very busy week for the Romanian Trance Family! 1 ASOT, 3 FSOE plays and many other more supports for our trance producers. My first trance week in review is all about local artists and supporting them and their work. I know I didn't mention all of them. Between Exolight, Suncatcher, Nikolauss, The WLT, there is also place for Bogdan Vix, Keyplayer, Starpicker and many more as well. But to somehow start this series, I chose one of the bussiest weeks of this summer (till now).  We have some really talented producers and they all deserve your support.

Exolight & Suncatcher - Day to Remember [Fables]

The 2 are on the run lately. Releasing choon after choon, there is no wonder their latest release was played by Aly & File in FSOE 504, voted as FUTURE SOUND and got played a week earlier in ASOT 821. It is clearly they are doing something really right if they are getting so much support both from big artists (Armin van Buuren, Aly & Fila, Dan Stone, Ferry Tale, Solarstone, Alex M.O.R.P.H)  and the trance community. Track got released on July 10 and is up for grabs here.

Personal opinion about the track: Great and very serious uplifting, with the right dose of emotion. It is one of those tracks that made me go back to the most melancholic moments of my life, while keeping the present, present. It made me smile thinking of all those beautiful moments. It gave me chills. It gave me goosebumps. Memory goosebumps.

Exolight & Suncatcher - Summer Escape [Always Alive]

Perfect to enjoy this summer. It captures a whole season in one track. Got released on June 30 and it is part of Daniel Kandi's Always Alive Recordings 200.

Nikolauss - Speedforce [Extrema Global]

Can't say this one is my favorite only because he is my boyfriend, but I will say it it my favorite because the track is indeed amazing. I think is one of his best ones till now and I cannot wait to share what else he has to share with you soon. I remember listening to it in its early stages and I know how much I enjoyed since. Speedforce is the right track to get you back on track and to motivate your day. It also has more meaning to me, since I am a huge fan of the Flash and his adventures. This connection inspired the artwork, inspired a lot of articles here and will inspired much more from now on.

Track got released on July 14 and it is one of the 2 tracks Nikolauss had prepared for us for this month. Grab your copy here: extrema.lnk.to/speedforce .

Follow Nikolauss on Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud, Instagram.

Let's see if we can get on more romanian Future Sound in FSOE. Shall we? Vote your favorite here and let's hope these guys get what they deserve!

The WLT - Wanderlust [Go On Air]

Dana, in real life, has her first big release with Giuseppe Ottaviani's label Go On Air and her first play on ASOT. That is quite an accomplishment and I hope she gets more from now on. Gotta love a woman's touch on a trance track!

Track will be released on July 24. But till you can get your copy, you can vote for here as Future Favorite here: www.astateoftrance.com/futurefavorite.

Follow The WLT on Social Media too: FacebookSoundcloud, Twitter.

What do you think about all these tracks? Which one is your favorite? Whom you would vote to be the best?

365 days of Extrema Global Music in pixels, sounds and happiness

Happy tranceversary! Today I am celebrating one year since I said yes to one of the biggest challenges: to work on graphics and social media for Extrema Global Music, alongside two of the artists I always appreciated: Manuel Le Saux and Astuni. And of course, my other half, my friend, my lover: the amazing Nikolauss.

During this year I completely changed my mind about the trance scene and learned a lot from its backstage. I got to experience how a label works, how they sort demos and how much can someone help an upcoming artist. I met a lot of new people through it and started some  amazing friendships.

We started  by working on some new artworks to better suit the label and the great tracks they release. We changed how to display the information and gave it a more modern look.  Kept the gradients, but adapted them. We kept the logo in the center, and helped it stand up more by using its arrow as an extra element in the background. Separated the artist information, just to give it a little push and make it easier to read and recognize. And we got a really nice feedback on them as well. People were receiving change better than expected and made us even happier with the result.

We did a lot this year, and not only in terms of design. We released 48 great tracks and discovered some really good artists. We got some strong support from Armin van Buuren, Aly & Fila, Sean Tyas, Darren Porter, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Photographer, Richard Durand, TranceEye and many more. We reached 100 releases with over 80 amazing artists on August 1st and we celebrated in stile with a great track from Nikolauss.

We had a great time with Recoverworld Label Group, but we chose to make a change and moved to the Abora Recordings family. That made us feel like starting from scratch, but in only a couple of months we managed to take it to a next level. We claimed our spot into the top trance labels and continued going up. Conquered the tops on Beatport and Trackitdown and we're fighting for some more!

We improved our presence on social media and launched our own Instagram, Twitter and Youtube accounts! We reached over 4400 friends on Facebook. We posted 37 videos on Youtube and got almost 10 000 views. These may seem small numbers to you, but for us, for me it is a lot to be grateful for only a couple of months. I have the pleasure to manage them all and I get a smile for every like, dislike, share or comment on these socials. I am happy to have a voice and use it to make people happy.

I am happy to be part of such a team and I am happy to call these guys friends. They are kind. They are driven. They are beautiful people. Manuel, Astuni, thank you for having trust in me and my work. Thank you for all the jokes, memories and hard work. Thank you for pushing me to be better. Thank you for beeing you. I can't wait to finally meet you in real life in Milan in one week. We get to reunite the team in one place and smash the dancefloor. Once Extrema, always Extrema!
