Shine Ibiza has a new anthem by Paul Van Dyk and Alex M.O.R.P.H.

The whiff of sunscreen, the scent of surf, the hint of a mojito - close your eyes and you can almost smell it!! Yup - real terms, Ibiza’s right around that corner and for that you’ll be needing yourselves an anthem! Something equatorially-hot in places, evocatively flyaway in others and one that’s never, ever less than elevating?!

With summer on their mind, early April saw Paul van Dyk and label-mate/super-chum Alex M.O.R.P.H. whack up the thermostat and hotfoot it into the studio. Channeling their inner sun (wasn’t hard!), the pair co-created this year’s anthem for SHINE Ibiza’s soon-to-be season-long run at San Antonio’s legendary Eden.

Vibe-wise, this year’s hymn to the hot stuff (says DJ Mag in their May issue 8/10 review) was never going to skimp on temperate Balearic feelgooderyPads & chords have palpably cyanic accents, the rich mainline gives it its thermal lift, while its firmer bass conveys all the necessary floor-drive”, the mag continued, concluding “we’re looking at an anthem in both name and nature her.

A track that condenses all the elements of SHINE’s unforgettable experience into seven minutes and eighteen seconds of trance perfection, the night’s 2019 ‘Ibiza Anthem’ is here. The one you’ll hum as you (eventually) head back to the hotel, the track drops today and is available here (https://VanditRecords.lnk.to/ShineIbizaAnthem2019).

Vandit Next Generation: Paul Van Dyk celebrates 20 years of Vandit with a new imprint

Paul Van Dyk is a pioneer of the electronic music field. Even since he opened Vandit back in 1999, he lead the light in the DJ/producer-owned label revolution. If at first the label was about bringing international artists to the German market, Vandit became and remains a vital instrument in handling his own music as well.

Since the very beginning, the label gave exposure to artists like Zaxx, kickstarted careers like the ones of Giuseppe Ottaviani, Alex M.O.R.P.H., Josh Gabriel, Gareth Emery, Lange and many more. Since the release of "Another Way" / "Avenue", the label became and remained Paul's music always home.

Now, that the label celebrates its 20th operating year, Paul decided to take it to a next level and launch its very first sub-label.

We’re two decades in to VANDIT, he says – and we felt this was the right juncture to make this distinctionWe want to clearly define what - over time - have become the two distinct tracks our artists are on. Musically, those producers already established will remain on VANDIT’s mainline label. The talent that Team VANDIT’s spotted, or those beginning to make names for themselves will start their journey through us on Next Generation. Investment is the key to all our futures, so the team’s aim through VANDIT Next Generation is to nurture that next wave of trance producer and see them on the right course”.

The sublabel's releases will take place every 2 weeks on Wednesdays and the first ones will include material from Steve Dekay, Jamie Walker, Aerotek, Aimoon, Jan Miller, Mhammed El Alami & Alex Wright and Casey Rasch.

VANDIT Next Generation’s first single, ‘The Blooming Era’ from Colombia’s Steve Dekay, is out now. Full details of its early summer launch releases you can find below, which will be available through all good online retailers & streaming agents.

Upcoming releases:

  • 24.04 VANX001 Steve Dekay – ‘The Blooming Era’
  • 08.05 VANX002 Jamie Walker – ‘Fly Away’
  • 22.05 VANX003 Aerotek – ‘Dystopia Is My Utopia’
  • 05.06 VANX004 Aimoon – ‘Dream Stream’
  • 19.06 VANX005 Jan Miller – ‘Sweets’
  • 03.07 VANX006 Mhammed El Alami & Alex Wright – ‘L’esprit’
  • 19.07 VANX007 Casey Rasch – ‘Forget About it’

Good move from the Trance MASTER and I really like seeing big names supporting new (or smaller) artists. Of you think you have what it takes, send your demo to them and maybe, you'll get the release you've been looking for for your track. Good luck!

SHINE IBIZA REVEALS SEASON 2 DATES & LINE UP

PVD-HEADLINED IBIZA NIGHT FLIES IN HOST OF TRANCE HEAT FOR 2019’s 11 SHOW RUN. ALY & FILA, COSMIC GATE, GIUSEPPE OTTAVIANI, ALEX M.O.R.P.H., JOHN O’CALLAGHAN, JOHN 00 FLEMING, BRYAN KEARNEY AND JORDAN SUCKLEY AMONGST THOSE SET TO APPEAR

If you happened to be looking in the other direction throughout January, let us catch you up! Events on Planet SHINE have been running - fair to say – plenty hot over the first month of the year. Assumed - and subsequently confirmed - the White Isle breakout is returning for the summer of 2019. For its second season run, word of a venue uptick got out, taking SHINE to its own space at the legendary Eden. From there things started to get a little crazy. Having been on the circuit for but a single season, SHINE’s owners dropped word of a partnership with none other than Tomorrowland, which – come July 20 - will see the marque takeover Freedom - the festival’s second biggest stage.

And today SHINE are delighted to share the entire roll call of DJs that’ll be joining them on the island this year. With PvD’s Ibiza performances clicking back into the traditional #TRANCETHURSDAYS groove, SHINE has once again placed max emphasis on crowd-drawing spinners who embody the truest form of the genre.

Goes without saying that Paul will headline each of the nights and the first month’s worth of shows alone will see him joined by the likes of Bryan Kearney, John O’Callaghan, Jordan Suckley and Giuseppe Ottaviani. Aly & Fila (who’ll SHINE six times over the summer’s duration!) will be doing an XL set on July 11’s opening night. As Ibiza shifts into high season, Cosmic Gate, Alex MORPH, John 00 Fleming, Grum and others will be over to play their part too. Events come to a head on September 19, with SHINE’s co-headliners Paul van Dyk and Aly & Fila both delivering summer summating 3hr sets for its closing party. Every date & every DJ below. Could be time to call the travel agent.

Previously: reflecting on their first season and looking forward to the one ahead, SHINE ambassador Paul van Dyk said: “SHINE brought a breath of fresh air to Ibiza in 2018. To break out and do something new and under our own steam was a wonderfully liberating experience for myself personally and, I think, all involved. The team was right, the vibe was right and the DJs SHINE brought in to play were second to none. Trance and its global family were back on the island in its truest form. That all showed in the reception the night received.

On my last trip to Ibiza this year I dropped into the recently fully redeveloped Eden. I was blown away to see how the venue was modernized and refined. I’ve played the best and most exciting venues in the world and the new Eden is exactly that. Alongside San Antonio’s continuing regeneration, I am sure SHINE will host a world-class 2019 production there. Trance and Eden have a close relationship/shared history that goes back decades. In tandem with the desire to have the night back on Thursdays, I’m delighted to say that SHINE will be moving to the club for the upcoming 2019 season.”

Of the night’s move to Eden, the club said: “We are delighted to be hosting SHINE Ibiza for the first time in San Antonio. We are dedicated to offering a diverse range of club nights to our Ibiza crowd. We can think of no better team to bring Trance to Eden than with legendary Paul van Dyk and the SHINE family for 2019”.

SHINE promoter and MD of The Supernova Group Nick Ferguson echoed that, saying: “We are very excited by the opportunity to move SHINE to Eden for the 2019 season. The club has recently experienced a fantastic redevelopment and resurgence, as has San Antonio. Eden is well run, by people that believe in trance and are passionate about working with an exciting new brand!

Strongest message for trancers: Music rescues me - Paul Van Dyk ft. Plumb [Vandit]

Of course you already know about this beauty! But of course I had to write about it too. The message of it is too strong to miss it. Paul Van Dyk ft. Plumb - Music Rescues Me is the track to properly start and make people talk about his 9th album, album with the same name.

After collaborating with Plumb for the perfect "I don't deserve you" in 2012, this track is the perfect reunion of these amazing music people. ‘Music Rescues Me’s song is co-penned by the lyricist behind latter-day van Dyk anthem ‘Home’, Snow Patrol member and long-time personal friend, Johnny McDaid.

Paul & Plumb’s shared history reaches back three whole PvD albums, to ‘EVOLUTION’ and ‘I Don’t Deserve You’. Beloved by fans from both respective quarters, the pair stayed in close contact, looking for the right project to resume the partnership on. That came following a song-writing session between Paul and Johnny. “It took a little while, but, says Paul, in ‘Music Rescues Me’, I knew we had the right follow-up for Plumb”.

If you ask me, this track has the strongest message a track can have: Music rescues me. Music rescues us. I can't even remember how many times listening to a track got me out of a dark place or made my day better. I think we all can't see a life without music and we all have our stories to share. The track is simple, lyrics reach right to the heart and once you hit play you get to the right place: a place of happiness, of joy, of calm.

Set amidst epic, reverb-rich guitars strains and dynamic rhythms, ‘Music Rescues Me’ is a track whose rapturously positive-thinking/feeling chorus is only equalled by its imaginatively stimulating verses. Paul & Plumb’s ‘Music Rescues Me’ got out on September 14th through VANDIT Records. It’s available to stream/purchase here: https://lnk.to/PaulVanDyk_MRM

Alsooooooo, great achievement: Paul van Dyk received the Trance Master Award at the 21st annual DJ Awards. Right! Exactly what I am saying for years now. He is a trance master for a lot of us and the one that introduced us to this beautiful music. He deserved this award and deserves many more!

‘Music Rescues Me’s October album launch show at new London club titan The Printworks is now less than a month out. Having already housed some of the biggest names in electronic music, on October 12, it’ll play host to Paul’s début performance of the album’s music. PvD will become the first artist to deliver trance to the history-steeped surrounds of the former newspaper printing plant. If you’ve yet to secure a ticket, don’t delay - the majority have already been snapped up! Get yours via paulvandyk.london today.

Paul Van Dyk latest news: new album - Music Rescues Me and Ldn Launch show @ The Printworks

- ‘Music Rescues Me’ - The Album - forthcoming October 2018
- Pre-registration for 12/10/18 launch show at London’s The Printworks now open @ paulvandyk.london

In behind-the-scenes production for the greater part of a year, Paul van Dyk surprise-revealed this week that a new artist album – his ninth - is inbound this autumn. Signalling a newly galvanized creative stream from the electronic music legend, it will hit October 2018 - just 12 months after his wildly successful, critically embraced comeback LP, ‘From Then On’.

Arriving under the appellation ‘Music Rescues Me’, it will develop and expand on the theme first set by the album’s vanguard (and namesake) single. Part tribute to/part personal mediation on music’s seemingly limitless capacity to heal, restore and lift, it’s a subject that has rapt Paul to the greatest of degrees.

Additional to the announcement of the album, PvD also gave a first tranche of details regarding artists co-writing on ‘Music Rescues Me’. Further to Plumb’s turn on its eponymous first single, other collaborative returnees mentioned included ‘From Then On’ contributors Jordan Suckley, Giuseppe Ottaviani and James Cottle. Debut pairings were also among the names released, with London’s Delta One, Saad Ajub (of ‘Crazy Whisper’ fame) and young Colombian talent Steve Dekay confirmed by Paul to have shared studio time on ‘Music Rescues Me’.

Allowing fans the clearest possible idea of ‘Music Rescues Me’ landing date, the other major newsbreak today is that pre-registration has commenced for the album’s October launch show. It’s an extra special, first-of-its-kind deal too, with new London club titan The Printworks playing host to its début performance. Having already housed some of the biggest names in electronic music, on October 12 van Dyk will become the first artist to deliver trance to the history-steeped surrounds of the former newspaper printing plant.

If you want to secure yourself one of the limited day-1 places available to experience ‘Music Rescues Me’s show, now’s the time to activate! You can pre-register for tickets via paulvandyk.london here.

Trance master Paul Van Dyk breaks news on Symbols - new album and launch show

UPDATE: Album's name has changed to Music Rescues Me. More details here.

- ‘Symbols’ forthcoming October 2018.
- Pre-registration for 12/10/18 launch show at London’s The Printworks now open via paulvandyk.london

Hell yes! When Paul Van Dyk announces a new album and a new launch show, you know you have to grab your copy and be present! It's been a year since the last one, From Then On and each album gets better and better! I wouldn't expect anything else from the trance master of all times. In production under-the-radar for nine months, it is (according to the empirical source) “in the final stages of recording” and - signalling a newly won creative flow.

The album will come under the title ‘Symbols’, with its concept originating from PvD’s interest in “historic mysteries, clandestine societies and their respective codes & cyphered meanings”. Hands up who saw this one coming!

In a move as welcome as it is unforeseen, Paul van Dyk surprise announced today news that a new album’s inbound. In production under-the-radar for nine months, it is (according to the empirical source) “in the final stages of recording” and - signalling a newly won creative flow - will release just a year after ‘From Then On’.

The album will come under the title ‘Symbols’, with its concept originating from PvD’s interest in “historic mysteries, clandestine societies and their respective codes & cyphered meanings”.

The other major takeaway today (and giving audiences the clearest possible idea as to when ‘Symbols’ will materialise) is that pre-registration has unlocked for the album’s October launch show. It’s an extra special, first-of-its-kind deal too, with new London club landmark The Printworks housing the début performance. At once industrially atmospheric and ethereally gothic, PvD saw the former newspaper printing plant as the perfect backdrop to frame ‘Symbols’. Having already played host to some of the biggest names in electronic music, on October 12 van Dyk will become the first artist to send trance around its history-infused walls.

If you want to guarantee yourself one of the limited day-one places available to experience ‘Symbols’ music, now is the time to act. You can pre-register for tickets via paulvandyk.london here.

With the greater part of three months to go until release, further info on the album’s exact nature - collaborations most notably - remains scarce. As recently as his Tomorrowland set however, track Easter Eggs were rumoured to have appeared. With a trail leading through Mysteryland, Creamfields and his SHINE Ibiza sets, more - its hinted - will be there for the keener eyed & eared.

When commenting on the announcement, cryptically, PvD did let a few potential bigger-picture insights slip. Mentioning that the album’s concept would “place historic mysteries in a modern context”, he said ‘Symbols’ would be “a reflection of the more indistinct nature of today’s world. The ‘story behind the story’, the power behind the power, etc has always has always fascinated me - this album’s going to hold a mirror up to that”.

We’re guessing he doesn’t mean your average reflective kind. A puzzle wrapped in an encryption, sealed in a labyrinth, can only remain a puzzle wrapped in an encryption, sealed in a labyrinth for so long.
What (and who) lies behind ‘Symbols’, time alone will tell. But tell it will.

Shine Ibiza has an anthem now. The legend, Paul Van Dyk took care of it!

Sleeps counted less in weeks and more in days, the doors to SHINE - Ibiza’s new trance bastion unlock at Privilege’s Vista Club in early July. You know the dates, you know the day and you know the DJs (and if you don’t, those details are below!). You can have a reasonable guess at the music policy too, but the boys & girls at SHINE aren’t taking any chances there.

They dialled the Anthem Hotline and it was PvD who picked up. A between-albums project, under the Presents SHINE mantle, he rolled up sleeves and delivered a scene-setting encapsulation for his new residency.

Anthem by name and nature, the track wastes zero time in musically distilling the trance heart of Ibiza. Underpinned by a production as set-versatile as they come, Paul folds cyanic pads, temperate bass and chiming sub-melodies into its system. Super-heated key changes lift the track higher, before he draws its elements together, kissing them off fluently with a mainline that’s the very essence of Isla Blanca.

With DJ Mag commenting:as moments in trance go this month, there’s few to beat its effect - 9/10”, ‘SHINE’s ready to take you to some very special places indeed (though one in particular!). The one your brain will have on repeat all summer long, SHINE on that crazy island here https://bit.ly/2tLDzob from today or listen via Soundcloud here https://bit.ly/2lA48b4

5+ reasons I am not missing Paul Van Dyk - From Then On @Kristal Club, Bucharest

This is getting closer and closer with each day. I cannot belive there are only 2 weeks till I go to Bucharest to experience what sounds like an amazing event. ^_^ I have no doubts I will enjoy every minute of it and I cannot wait to be there.

Beside me beeing really excited to be there, I also have some specific reason of why I chose to go and why I am expecting nothing but greatness from it:

1. Paul Van Dyk. The trance god himself is coming back to Romania. Even tough I never saw him playing in Romania before, but in other countries, I cannot wait to experience his work once again. He is an amazing DJ and his live sets are to die for. Also, he is one of my trance crushes, so no other words needed.

2. Jordan Suckley. This man is an amazing artist and a true show-man. If you are not following his journeys on his Social Media accounts, then you're losing something great! His scratches, his playings with the decks are great and I cannot wait to experience those live.  I always like when a DJ is more than a DJ behind the decks and when there is something extra added to the performance.

3. Bogdan Vix. It's been a hard year for him, for the trance community and for the Romanian Trance scene. He got through all of what happened with all the goods and the bads and he seems to be doing a lot of great music lately and getting a lot of support. (3uphoria just got released. Take a listen and grab your copy. It will definitely worth it.) I am glad he does this last trance event for us for this 2017 and I hope he will not stop here. 2018 already sounds promising. I heard some rummors. ;)

4. Alex M.O.R.P.H. - I first saw him at Luminosity and he had a really good set. I want to repeat that experience. Plus, there are some of his tracks that I will never forget: An Angel's Love (w Sylvia Tosun), The Reason (w Natalie Gioia) and others that make me his forever fan.

5. A new TRANCE gathering. I am always saying trance is connecting good people and that the trance family is something really good for the world. I cannot wait to see some dearly missed faces and to reconnect. It has been a while since we last saw each other and nothign compares with a good old get around face to face (not just online) with all the memories and plans for future getaways.

New trip to trance heaven. Amazing music to celebrate again and again. This reason doesn't need a number. It is the first, the second, the third, the forever reason for every event I chose to go to. I love this music so much. It is a huge part of my life and I cannot imagine what I'd do if it weren't for TRANCE music and all its feelings.

Do you think it this enough to let people not miss this event? Do you have more thoughts? Just let me know below! Trance on!

December 1st. Romania is in for a proper trance celebration!

Ohhh yes! Yes yes yes! Million times yes! That is what I was saying on the official event when I saw the announcement: Paul Van Dyk if coming back to Romania with his celebration party for his last album: From Then On.

After missing him at Electric Castle, I literally hated myself for not working a little bit more to make that happen. Even tough I saw Paul last year at Luminosity, there is nothing compared to him on the stage smiling and giving you the best time of your life through his music. Soooo, when I saw the announcement I got really really excited and booked my tickets right away.

Considering December 1st is also the National Day (of course work holiday too :D), this is great news! The whole Romanian community will celebrate in style with some really hot names from the trance scene: Paul Van Dyk, Jordan Suckley, Alex M.O.R.P.H. and our own Bogdan Vix. Needless to say these are all great music people and amazing DJs. Saw all of them before on the stage, and they simply know how to please a crowd.

The event will take place at Kristal Club, in Bucharest and will open its doors starting 10pm. Early bird tickets are already on sale for the price of 100 Ron (around 22 euros). You can grab yours here.

The hosts, INPUT, are brand new in the scene, but I really hope they will continue. I know they have support from TrancEnDance, so there if definitely some legacy. Beside taking care of an amazing line up and cool location, they also announced that the lights, visuals, the show will be provided by one of the best people in Romania - Arena Events. These guys were behind some nice festivals here, like Untold, Afterhills, Electric Castle, Neversea, so I am expecting greatness!

No more words for me now. Since I am speachless with all these news. I'll just go and warm up for a month for this event! Hope you'll do the same! Trance on!

Also, don't forget to RSVP to the official Facebook event.

PS. Stay close! A full review of Paul's album is coming soon!
