Vandit Next Generation: Paul Van Dyk celebrates 20 years of Vandit with a new imprint

Paul Van Dyk is a pioneer of the electronic music field. Even since he opened Vandit back in 1999, he lead the light in the DJ/producer-owned label revolution. If at first the label was about bringing international artists to the German market, Vandit became and remains a vital instrument in handling his own music as well.

Since the very beginning, the label gave exposure to artists like Zaxx, kickstarted careers like the ones of Giuseppe Ottaviani, Alex M.O.R.P.H., Josh Gabriel, Gareth Emery, Lange and many more. Since the release of "Another Way" / "Avenue", the label became and remained Paul's music always home.

Now, that the label celebrates its 20th operating year, Paul decided to take it to a next level and launch its very first sub-label.

We’re two decades in to VANDIT, he says – and we felt this was the right juncture to make this distinctionWe want to clearly define what - over time - have become the two distinct tracks our artists are on. Musically, those producers already established will remain on VANDIT’s mainline label. The talent that Team VANDIT’s spotted, or those beginning to make names for themselves will start their journey through us on Next Generation. Investment is the key to all our futures, so the team’s aim through VANDIT Next Generation is to nurture that next wave of trance producer and see them on the right course”.

The sublabel's releases will take place every 2 weeks on Wednesdays and the first ones will include material from Steve Dekay, Jamie Walker, Aerotek, Aimoon, Jan Miller, Mhammed El Alami & Alex Wright and Casey Rasch.

VANDIT Next Generation’s first single, ‘The Blooming Era’ from Colombia’s Steve Dekay, is out now. Full details of its early summer launch releases you can find below, which will be available through all good online retailers & streaming agents.

Upcoming releases:

  • 24.04 VANX001 Steve Dekay – ‘The Blooming Era’
  • 08.05 VANX002 Jamie Walker – ‘Fly Away’
  • 22.05 VANX003 Aerotek – ‘Dystopia Is My Utopia’
  • 05.06 VANX004 Aimoon – ‘Dream Stream’

  • 03.07 VANX006 Mhammed El Alami & Alex Wright – ‘L’esprit’
  • 19.07 VANX007 Casey Rasch – ‘Forget About it’

Good move from the Trance MASTER and I really like seeing big names supporting new (or smaller) artists. Of you think you have what it takes, send your demo to them and maybe, you'll get the release you've been looking for for your track. Good luck!

New track: Alex Ryan - Cala Conta [Vandit]

Anyone who’s ever made the trip (and guessing that’s a fair few of you) quickly finds their favourite Cala on Ibiza. Whether you figure on Figueretas, feel the bass of Bassa, lounge on Llonga, dart for d’Hort, go turbo for Carbo, or shuck yer shorts on Salinas, quite simply everyone’s got their spot!

For Alex Ryan, its Conta – a sandy enclave due west of San An, that quite clearly has made a special impression on the young producer. Returning to VANDIT’s ranks this week after his club hit ‘Atlantis’ stole hearts back in March, ‘Cala Conta’s a track that’s has soul to bare and spirit to burn.

If ‘Conta’ the track is anything to go by, Conta is indeed a place worth hitting. Sprung on a base of influential kicks, flamed percussion and sonorous bass, Alex stirs up its ether through female vocal harmonics. Every bit as engaging, its sub-melody sets it on its course to the break, where iridescent pads, translucent synths and, finally, ripping elevation await.

Moving, magical, inspiring or just plain up-for-it, whatever you seek, ‘Cala Conta’ will deliver. It’s available now through VANDIT here: https://www.beatport.com/release/cala-conta/2336860.

New track: Frank Dueffel & Curtis Young - The Cartel [Vandit]

Let’s be frank, Mr. Dueffel’s back on VANDIT and after the club reception afforded ‘Adiabatic’ and follow-up ‘Wherever You Are’, we couldn’t be happr! Better yet, this time he’s brought a chum along with him!

‘The Cartel’ finds the Wesseling resident sat side-by-side in the studio with none other than Curtis Young. If that has you picturing hip-hop artiste and son of Dr. Dre, well allow us to disabuse you! It is in fact the young trance DJ & production hotshot from Belfast - a man who’s been making almost as many waves as Frank has of late.

‘The Cartel’ contrasts an elevating, optimism-fuelled soundbase against the vocal’s tenacious anti-drug polemic. With originality to burn, it squares drum romp & bass vibrancy with quick-running sub-melodies, awww inspiring (!) pad & chord motions and innovative FX. Gating up a storm in the break, its mainline synths point to the heavens to deliver its sky-bound soar.

Check ‘The Cartel’ out via the VANDIT SoundCloud here: https://soundcloud.com/vanditrecords, or cut right to the chase and stash it in you collection via Beatport here: https://www.beatport.com/release/the-cartel-extended/2293820

New track: Suzanne Chesterton & Robert Lowe - Antus [Vandit]

In both solo and co-op form, Richard Lowe’s been a production presence on VANDIT‘s skyline for some time now. Through outings like ‘Levitate’ and his ‘Our Day’ & ‘March Skies’ team-ups with David Forbes, floor-side he’s been a rainmaker to some big, BIG club moments. Having written her own compositions from her single digit years, Suzanne Chesterton caught the musical bug even earlier. It took the meeting of these two likeminds for her first release to be fully realised though.

What though is an ‘Antus’!? Well, if you ask Google, it’ll tell you it’s “a World of Warcraft player with exceptional skills and the strength of a beast!” We’re not certain if this is the origin of Suzanne & Richard’s incarnation, but (and you can probably see where we’re going with this!) it does one heck of a job in describing it!

Trancefloor elevation to vertiginous levels is what the duo have conspired. Through ‘Antus’ powerplant drums, rimshot percussion drive, no-nonsense pace and tirelessly grafting synths, that’s exactly where you’re carried. Don’t look down (less you dare!) - ‘Antus’ from Suzanne & Richard towers from today! "Damaged" duo releases new track: Jordan Suckley & Sam Jones - Pursuit [Vandit]

When these two get together, be sure they will blow your mind with what they release. Two masterminds, one track. One hell of a track! Jordan Suckley and Sam Jones released "Pursuit" on April 6 with Vandit! Having previously left crater-sized impressions on clubfloors with their ‘Hijacker’ and ‘Wilma’ team-ups, this particular twosome already have an impressive track record together.

With expedited beats, furiously hissing hi-hats, staccato percussion and whip-crackin’ FX, the track shifts into fifth in no time at all. A tempo less measured in bpm and more in bhp, it sends wild stabs, crowd inciting pitch-bends and shunting bass roaring through its cylinders.

End-of-the-night, techier-minded mayhem”, (said DJ Mag in their 8/10 review) that “resolves around a right old razorblade of a mainline”, you can pick up the ‘Pursuit’ from today:beatport.com/release/pursuit-extended/2233717.

Do not even know what to say. The track speaks for itself. It is so powerful and so dark, you cannot miss it on the dancefloor. It is a track I would have in my gym playlist too. Cuz it driving enough to make me go through the routine flawlessly. It gave me some shivers, the track has some of mystery in it. Shivers of excitement, shivers of energy, shivers of magic. Magic to believe I can do everything I want everytime I hear this track in my earphones.

New track: ALEX M.O.R.P.H. & MARK SHERRY – MAGNETAR [Vandit]

Whenever you see these two names in a track's title, you know it is huge! Alex M.O.R.P.H.'s uplift and Mark Sherry's tech madness combined will always turn into a proper choon! The 2 trance minds are insanely great and it kinda makes you wonder, why this didn't happen earlier. Why Magnetar didn't appear into our lives a couple of years ago.

Wasting zero time, the pair’s first studio union rolls out at pace with drum punch, metal-on-metal percussion and crowd-infecting vocal whoops & loops. Techy FX and bleepy, beamed-from-the-heavens sub-riffs are dispensed from Mr Sherry’s soundbanks. That leaves Alex to hardwire a mainline so galactic in scope & effect, a return from ‘Magnetar‘ may be beyond us all!

Magnetar  is exactly what you would expect from a M.O.R.P.H. and Sherry mix. A very nice melody, dreamy, uplifting but also playful combined with a strong and driving upbeat. Good track to listen to at the office and drive your rocker colleagues mad with having it on repeat. Good to start the day with too. It definitely kicks in the energy!

The mindboggling properties of their debut union are available now here beatport.com/release/magnetar-extended/2224170 through Beatport. Or you can feel its cosmic blast via VANDIT’s Soundcloud page!

New track: Mohamed Bahi - Hope for a Cure [Vandit]

New track! New Track! New AMAZING Track! Or at least, I am loving it. And I am having it on repeat for a couple of hours now. Mohamed Bahi - Hope for a Cure was just released on January 19 and it is a dream of a track! It is his first single of 2018 and it is here to give us the right start for 2018! It sounds very playful and it puts me into a very good mood.

It is the first time I heard of Mohamed Bahi (shame on me), but I understood he is a Vandit regular now. He also released Atlas Highland, In a Perfect World and Habanium and he is quite present between VONYC listeners.

This track is full of positivity. It breaths the joy and optimism. It touches all your hopes and dreams and it makes you fly. Fly to the land of all possibilities. Fly to the land of promises. Where everything becomes true and disappointment fades. The echoic piano, the hooky intro, the cascade of note arrangements, the sensationsal pad and the chord swirl are just a couple of the elements that make this track sounds so great. The drop makes your energy go higher and higher, so that it ends with a full release of all the elements into one big and euphoric uprush.

Hope For A Cure is available now here via Beatport, or you catch a listen via VANDIT’s Soundcloud page here.
